Hearth – Happiness in our hearts and homes

With our Year Wheel, we move into May 2026. Its card is from the Halloween Oracle. The Halloween Oracle deck is published by Blue Angel and is by Stacy Demarco. The back of the deck is very “Halloweeny”. It shows all different things on a black background: bats, jack o'lanterns, ghosties, witch’s brooms, black cats, witch’s hats, cauldrons… all that kind of stuff is on there.

The card for May 2026 is Hearth. H E A R T H. Hearth. With the additional words “Happiness in our hearts and homes”. Oh, I love that, coming after the Manifesting Dreams card in April. I love that also having had a Vision Quest card earlier in the year because perhaps this is saying "Hey, do you have that somewhere in your Vision? Because maybe that's important and let's bring it in”.

Hearth in this case, is a big fireplace where one could use it for cooking. It has a big bread loaf that has been baked in the home. It has candles set up ready for heat and light. There are big logs on the fire, so the fire is working well. And over top of the fireplace is what I guess you would call a Gargoyle. It looks like a Gargoyle to me. Really like one you would see on the top of castles or big old houses. It is looking over that Hearth, giving that protection energy.

“Hearth - Happiness in our hearts and homes”. The concept of vision ties in again with this. What about your home is important to you and how do you need to protect it? The same with your heart and your heart energy. What is important to you about your heart, physical heart, your actual human beating heart, and its health and well-being, plus its energetic, emotional, and spiritual sides. This includes the energy of the heart center and the messages of the heart center. What is important to those and how do you protect it? This really does have both, the flourishing energy with happiness, things being done, activities, the fire’s there, the baking's there, the candles are lit, and it also has our big Gargoyle friend and that protection.

When you are in May of this year, remind yourself of “What is coming in to unbalance or unsteady my heart and my home?” and “How do I need to remind myself to protect the heart and home for me?” and then “If I have others that are protecting those for me as well, then wonderful. I am going to be really appreciative of that.” Then notice “What kind of protection do I need?” Here, I am not talking about going into extremism for protection. I am talking more about the choices as that is what it feels like, about the choices.

For example, choices that work with phrases, thoughts and energies like:
I choose to do this because it aligns with what I want for my heart and my home.
I choose to not do something else because it would unbalance that, it would unsteady it; it would bring in something that does not feel like it aligns with me or it does not have my best interest at heart. It does not take care of me, my family, my well-being, my physical space, and my energetic space as well.

It is protection but not from an extremist point of view. It is more from the perspective of realizing the choices you are making and what you need to really notice and do so that this happiness is protected and is preserved. Conservation of your happiness in your home with your personal tasks. The things you do for the basics, for food, for shelter, for warmth, for light, and for well-being within yourself. Your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. And in your physical space, your family, your friends, and all that is your community. What are all the choices that need to be made with all of that, and also need to be sustained and protected through May 2026?

This reading is also feeling like it is the energy of really noticing… It is as if there is an energy that gets you to notice if somebody is pretending to come in and help out, but it is not help, they are not actually helping. Like fraudulent activity, behavior, or words. They may sound great, but when you really watch the actions or you really pay attention to the energy, it is totally not what it was representing. This is where the Gargoyle is doing its true protection. It looks fierce, but it has your best interest at heart. It is taking care of you versus perhaps somebody who sounds or something that sounds beautiful, sounds helpful, and sounds too good to be true. When you watch those actions, when you watch the truth, when you watch the consistency, and when you pay attention to the energy, it is not holding best interest. It is not holding honorable ways. It is not holding health and wellness in line with what works for you. It is not holding happiness in line. It may say it is, but then when you really pay attention, when you really notice, it is not. It is not doing that. It is not a truthful representation. And therefore, you need that protection from it even though it initially looks like a great thing.

So, it is the act of noticing what is truly helpful and protective versus what appears to be so great but is not. When you listen, you watch, and you notice, you go, "Yeah, something's off with this - I'm gonna bring in my Gargoyle to be like: You figure that out with me and the energy, and we're going to be attentive. We're going to be aware of where something is truthfully of value in that way and helpful for my happiness, for my heart and home, for my hearth and home." And when it sounds too good to be true and there is something underlying that you need to notice, do that for yourself and for others. Make choices according to that.

That is the Hearth card from the Halloween Oracle. A very interesting card for May.
