The August energy is from the Earth Magic Oracle Cards. On the back of the deck we see the Tree with its roots portrayed as a water reflection. The Sun shines behind it and it appears there are gemstones like fruits in among the leaves. There is a heron in the water and a couple of bears nearby. This deck is by Dr. Steven Farmer and published by Hay House.
The card for August is Ocean - Ebb and Flow.
You might remember if you have been watching or reading the Year Wheel from the beginning, that the first card involved for 2026, for the vision of 2026, is the Letting Go card. On that card, the affirmation says, “I surrender joyously to the ebbing and flowing of life.” Different deck, different authors. And now we get to August 2026 with the Ocean - Ebb and Flow.
This is a reminder that there will be ups and downs in life. There will be easy points and there will be difficult points. There will be fun times and there will be tough times. That is life as a human living on planet Earth. And if you have ever watched nature documentaries, you will know - I watch a lot of them – you will know that is pretty much life for everyone. Great things and devastating tough, tough, things.
The Ebbing and Flowing is particularly part of this August energy. It is getting late in whatever season you are in. Later Summer or later Winter, wants you to take a nice deep breath. It wants you to notice the vastness of the Ocean and the vastness of life. You are a drop within that. But within your drop, you also contain everything. It is both of those at the same time. I am little and I am also massive within my little. I am one but within my one I am all.
You may also sense: I experience and I understand the Ebbing and Flowing that others are going through, that the world is going through, that myself, my partner, my family, my friends, my workplace… that we are going through. As well as the Ebbs and Flows nature is going through. Sometimes we have water, sometimes we do not have enough water. Sometimes it is super hot, sometimes it is super cold. We also have New Moon to Full Moon. We go from darkness to light. We go from night to day. We have and go through these Ebbs and Flows. It is part of natural cycles; it is part of being a human and also a being on this planet.
The being little but also having everything within your “little”. Being one but also having all within your “one”. This is allowing you to feel how amazing you are as a human, right? All the different cells, all the different organisms working within you, all the different chemicals, and the different minerals and the vitamins. All of that working within you to create the being that is you, knowing, sitting watching a video, sitting creating a video, reading this writing as well as writing this text. Allowing us to really feel the fullness of that, and the wonder and the amazingness of it too. As we saw with the card and reading we had in July with Enthusiasm and celebrating, you can bring some of that into this part of the Ocean - Ebb and Flow.
Then the other part are the ups and downs and knowing that they are going to happen. It feels as though August might come with some sort of ups and downs (as life does right?), but it feels as though the motion wants to be taken in a very flowy sort of way. Try not to get caught in one little corner or one little cage or one little box. Try to really notice it for the flow that it is. Saying: This is something that's coming. This is something that's going. This is something that's really easy and I love. This is something
that's really tough and I don't love it, but I'm moving through. I'm experiencing.
There are a lot of these sorts of waves in, waves out energies. Some waves are really big. Some are gentle ripples. You are invited to see where you are within that. Where you need to take a pause and stand on the beach and just watch, or to take shelter somewhere and take care of yourself. Where you are in it, where you are on the waves, where you are riding the waves, where you are working with the water, the wind, and the energy that is coming. Seeing what that is for you and whatever that experience is.
Also, the Sun rising and Sun setting. We have sunlight in the background on this card. Of course, that is part of this Ebb and Flow too, this up and down. It is also a reminder that, as you know, things will rise up again. Things will gain light again if they are feeling really dark or feeling in shadow or feeling really challenged. Sometimes you need to get help to do that. Feel welcome to reach out to get help, to get help to put on a light for yourself or to call somebody in who can hold you and hold that light for you, and who represents helpful energy for you. Feel welcome to get the help you need when you need it. Do not wait too long. Why wait and suffer? What is the point of that?
Get the help you need when you need it because the flow is there. The flow is already there. It is ready for you. But if you are stuck in a little corner, you can not see the flow. You can not work with it. The big waves, the challenging waves, the great times, and the tough times. Get the help that you need when you need it. Okay? And remember then the vastness that is all within you in beautiful powerful ways. The wonder, the magic, and the majesty of who you are as a human being in this experience on Earth. Spiritual stuff as well as daily living stuff.
Something like laundry – is it great and wonderful? Maybe not. But is it kind of amazing at the same time? Yeah it is, because I have clothes! I have things to wear, and I have a facility to wash them. I can go from them maybe being really dirty and smelly to being, "Oh, I feel better when I put them on." Just that act seems so simple and seems so mundane, but at the same time, there's a wonder in that. Having the water, having the facility, and having the capacity to do that.
It can be super complex, but it can also be really, really, simple, this card and the energy of August. It is a lot to play with. Ups and downs, ins and outs, and Ebb and Flow. With you and the bigness and the smallness. It is all in there.
It is a big feel, feeling like big energy, but not in a bad way. Just in a reminding you about it all and how you walk through it.
