4 - The Emperor
We come to the halfway point of the year with June. The June 2025 card is from the Robin Wood Tarot deck and is The Emperor. We have our Emperor fellow sitting on his throne. It is the number four card of the Major Arcana section of the deck. This is a very Celtic Earthy deck. It is a very traditional Tarot but from that particular perspective.
On the image, we see he has a horn on the back of his throne, that probably would be used either to announce or for beverages, as you do. There are Ravens on either side carved into the throne. There is a big bird flying in the background could be Eagle, could be Hawk, could be Raven, or could be something else. You have big mountains behind, dark red-brown coloured. The Emperor is sitting with his feet on the Earth as the Emperor often does in these decks, connecting with the Earth. He is wearing his very royal outfit of purple, white, red, and gold colours. Plus, there is what looks to be Rams heads on the end of the armrests where he puts his hands. He is also holding a staff-like thing, an ankh scepter (I couldn’t remember what it was called exactly when I did the video of this reading).
The Emperor is our June card. Partway through the year so far, we have had a Queen, and now we have the Emperor. This Emperor wants us to step into this month and to be aware in June, again, as previously discussed in this year, of the balance between Heaven and Earth. Heaven up above, Spirit, Universe, and energy, and Earth with humanness, living here, the human experience, the Earth needs, and the Earth requirements as a planet.
He is saying that yes, you can have a lot of power, and you can do a lot of things, and you can make a lot of choices but, you need to wield that stuff well. The reason you need to wield it well is not only for consequences in your human life but consequences beyond. He is making me think at this point when I am recording this video reading on January 1st – we have gone through the holiday season – and he is making me think of the A Christmas Carol story and movies of it that we have watched. He looks a bit like the Ghost of Christmas Present or the Spirit of Christmas Present in most of the movies that I have seen. They come in, they are big physically and they are a big character with a bold energy. There is joy and happiness but there is also the acknowledgment of what is difficult and what is tough. There is acknowledgement of the Christmas Past and also the Christmas Future, that things shift from one year to the next, it all shifts from one year to the next.
In this, he is bringing the reminder to me to bring to you, that yes you can have a lot of power, yes you can wield a lot of force, in yourself and on/with others, but be aware that there are effects of that. The effects are not only here as a human but they will be beyond. That is a really interesting perspective, it is not one that I have had brought through with the same expression of the idea, if ever, or at least definitely not in a long time, from the cards.
It talks about the lessons or the experiences we are having now. It indicates there will be things that we will have to work on and work through beyond this lifetime. It does not mean that there is judgment of you in this life, it is not that. It is rather that when there is choice, when there is awareness of choice. That choice and awareness is really important and valuable as you step forward, as you look at what you are doing, because it not only vibrates and effects in the here and now but beyond. It continues and then it has to be learned and dealt with, shifted and healed beyond. This is very interesting.
The other things he wants to bring up… let me see… ah yes, is the Wisdom of Perspective. With whatever you are currently adventuring through in June 2025 give yourself the opportunity, especially if things are challenging or if there is something you are trying to figure out and it is just not working. Give yourself the Wisdom of Perspective. With the bird in the background of the card image and the Ravens on his chair, he is reminding me of the perspective of higher ground that up in flight shows you. How it shows you things differently than when you are down here.
Another example that is coming is for those who watch a sports game. It is really different if you are sitting up at the top of a stadium. Your perspective of the game is not the same as if you are a player. If you are looking at the camera's point of view whether it is on the side or up above, it is different than that of the coaches on the edge. The perspectives are unique, and it wants you to give yourself that opportunity to look at different perspectives, so you can help yourself. If you are stuck with something you can not figure out or you are not sure what is going on. You could just sit down, take a pause, take a moment, the way he is doing. Survey your territory, survey your Empire, and have a look. Then bring in different perspectives: If I were to approach it from here what could be present? What does it feel like? What does it look like? Hmmm, if I were to approach it from over here what does that give me? This person would approach it like this, what does that show me or what is working with them going to bring me because they bring a different perspective?
You do not have to do this alone. You do not have to do these things alone. Sometimes we feel we have to and sometimes we do for important reasons, but if you can you want to get your team - Spirit Team as well as human team, and other creatures if you have other creatures, with you, involved, so that you can get all different perspectives to help get a very rounded balanced point of view.
What else does this Emperor have to say? As he has his feet on the Earth he brings something that is close to my heart. He brings a reminder not to step on the Earth too heavily. As you step into the June and the new season, Summer in the North, Winter in the South, with Solstice, beautiful Solstice, it is to connect with the Earth. Do not believe that you rise above the Earth as a human but rather recognize that you are part of her journey, her experience, and her livingness. By being part of that she allows you to have livingness as well, so check-in. Check-in with how are you utilizing resources from the planet, what is your energy for the planet too? Are there ways that you can pay attention to certain things or shift certain things for yourself and for her?
This would be a good month to work with the Solstice energy and bring that into your awareness and consciousness if you have not already. And if you have, if you are already doing that then yay! Then you get the Emperor celebration and a big clap and cheers to you.
