Page of Cups - August Oracle Intuitive Reading - Year Wheel 2024
For August we are going to the Robin Wood Tarot. We saw this deck in February too. We are going to the Page of Cups, ah… In August we bring back some of the water energy, that we haven't had for a little while, so it's nice to bring it back in, water energy. The Page is a youthful energy, a sort of apprenticeship. Bringing in something new, either needed for flexibility, for a different perspective, for a different way of looking at it, or for the innocence of how to look at something. Then is to wonder if it is going to grow, how is it going to grow, and how is it going to progress from there.
In this scene it is an ocean side, beach side. We have waves coming in. Beautiful sky colours, this rainbow of colours. We have this young woman who has a painter’s palette on the belt of her tunic, indicating there is creativity in this as well. She is of course holding a cup, being the Page of Cups. In the very small image, we see a teeny tiny bird coming out of the cup. It is, interestingly, the same bird as from our July Enthusiasm card! Two different decks and two different authors. It brings us our little, tiny bird and the connection with Enthusiasm through to our Page of Cups.
The Cups represent the water element, emotions, and feelings. It can also be what are we filling our cup with for abundance, what are we allowing the cup to be full of. In this card it also reminds of that creativity, that sort of awareness of how the world can be seen in all different ways. It is not only how we think it, it is the creative juices, it is flow with the water. It is flow, it is up, it is down, it is in, and it is out.
As you step in with this Page of Cups, there is an invitation to take the Enthusiasm from July and now bring it in with flow. Bring it in with feeling your stuff and feeling your feelings. Also feeling it from that celebration we had in July and that joy of living in July.
Now you might be holding the Cup out in front of you as she is and going: “Huh, that's quite interesting, that is now presenting me with things in a way I did not expect. This is new and this is different. What is this going to lead forward to?”
You have done a lot in your life whether you are a young person or whether you are a more senior person. You have experienced a lot. You have accomplished a lot too, whether you think you have or not. This Page is saying to look at what your Cup is full of. If there is anything in your cup that you react with “Yeah I really don't want that in my cup!” then you can go back to some of the other cards we’ve seen so far this year and go “All right, what do I need to do with this or about this?” It is allowing you to see what is in your Cup. What are you choosing? What is flowing in with this and what do I am allowing to flow out? Letting it go out to the expanse of the universe and the ocean, and saying “Thank you for taking that away and bringing me something different - I am open, I am available, and I am flexible to play with this, to feel this.” That creative juice that flows like waves in and waves out.
For some people this card feels like that real strong connection with the emotions and that feeling of feelings is going to come in as a little bit bigger wave than they are really wanting. If that is the case for you then this is a reminder that you don't have to, you know, chug back the cup all at one shot! You can take it in sips, and explore and taste metaphorically. What is this like? What does this feel like? I want more of this. I want less of this. I love this. I am not sure about that. I am scared of this… All of the feelings are present in there. Then notice how they make you feel.
When you have one and you look at it in the way that this Page is looking at it, you look at your Cup and you go “Huh, that's pretty cool, I like that” or “I'm aware of that”, “I want more of that”… and another look and feel of the Cup, you may go “Yeah no, no, icky tasting - not what I want thanks very much, not what I want to fill my cup with more of, so I pour it out to the universe. Thank you very much and now I welcome in something else” or I let it fly, let that bird fly, and then see what else she brings back.
It feels there is a lot more that we can go into with this month but we can look through the previous parts of the year so far and see what else she brings up and how she plays for this August as the month arrives and progresses. Definitely there is watery energy for everybody.
Peace, Love, and Light flowing,
Sheila
